Sometimes after church, I like to link up with my friends for brunch, so finding a suitable transition attire for both church and brunch can be tricky. Although I want to look appropriate for church, I don’t want to look too conservative for brunch afterward. This long light blue pleated skirt with a simple white tie-hem tank top was perfect for both occasions on a Sunday afternoon.

We got a dose of spring last week with 70-degree weather, and this week the temperature has dropped to 50 degrees, which sucks because I have plans to do brunch with my girls this weekend. This weekend’s weather is not ideal, but I can say farewell to winter with style by wearing a tan Harve Bernard leather skirt with a stolen black sweater from my mom’s closet, a black fedora hat, and black ankle boots.
It’s good to have friends who love to thrift just as much as I do. Since there is no- where to go right now, we decided to shop for outfits to wear to brunch at Mi Vida Restaurant. See what looks we brought to the restaurant this past weekend.
With the state of the world today, I wanted to pay homage to those who have fought, marched, preached, and spent time behind bars for me to have opportunities today. I transformed this comfy burnt orange pull-on-pants into a stylish outfit by pairing it with a long sleeve crop top, a vintage- gold plated belt buckle to bring out the look, and wore a beret to make a statement. Since brunch is an all-day thing, I wore a black blazer to protect me from that fall breeze and black booties for height.

She brought 90s nostalgia to brunch with her short plaid skirt, black turtleneck, black thigh-high boots, and yellow raincoat to add a pop of color to her trendy outfit. Did I mention that she’s a dope artist? Follow her @pnma to listen to her music.

You never realize what you have until it is gone. Since March, I’ve been working from home, and I missed getting dress up to go to work. I was excited when my boss sent a schedule for us to be in the office part-time. My first outfit back at the office was a soft pink silk blouse with a gold shimmer pencil skirt, black booties, and a face mask that screams “I’M BACK.” Even though I didn’t have an audience to show off to, it felt good getting dressed up to go to work. Those of you working from home until next year, you’ll find that wearing a cute outfit to your next zoom meeting will make you feel better.

Sometimes in life, you want to chill but look cute doing it. I recently met up with a couple of friends for lunch, and I just wanted to wear something comfortable. So, my look for the day was an Old Navy high-waisted blue denim cut-off ankle jeans with a classic button-down shirt and gray Adrienne Vittadini shoes. Of course, it was my turn to pay; I carried my wallet in a red vintage Liz Claiborne purse. I had a great time catching up with my friends in style.

Fall weddings are beautiful. Its the in-between weather that allows you to wear darker colors and explore new fabrics while holding on to your open-toe shoes. During quarantine, I found a chic velvet navy blue cocktail dress on Thred-Up – a popular online thrift store. I wore a simple sandal heel to complete this look . I may not have a wedding to attend this season, But I do have a dress to wear in Fall 2021!
The end of summer is near, and I want to take this time to show as much skin as possible before we transition into hoodies and jean season. On a safe day out with the girls, I wore this beautiful neutral colored split wrap skirt with a plain white crop tank top and sandals. I completed this look with a little vintage wooden bag.

Vintage Wooden Bag came from a thrift store in the DMV area (I bought this bag 10 years ago).
On my way to Brunch, I wore a floral pattern one shoulder ruffle dress that has an asymmetrical hem with a big pink leather and straw tote purse. This is the perfect outfit to catch-up with your BFF in as you guys enjoy a pitcher of sangria.

Even though there’s nowhere to go, I genuinely enjoy putting on an outfit to go to trader joes. Last week, I sashayed down the aisle with a cream-colored belted high-waisted jeans paired with a cut-up v-neck tank top and black sandals. I was a little overdressed at trader joes, but getting dressed up has brought me comfort during this quarantine.
