Sometimes in life, you want to chill but look cute doing it. I recently met up with a couple of friends for lunch, and I just wanted to wear something comfortable. So, my look for the day was an Old Navy high-waisted blue denim cut-off ankle jeans with a classic button-down shirt and gray Adrienne Vittadini shoes. Of course, it was my turn to pay; I carried my wallet in a red vintage Liz Claiborne purse. I had a great time catching up with my friends in style.

Fall can be unpredictable with the weather fluctuating from 50 to 70 degrees. It’s good to have a sweater for a 72-degree day and a cold evening, which was the case this past weekend at the winery. I wore a pink pullover midriff sweater with distress boyfriend jeans and a neutral color sandal heel. I could have worn this outfit with a neutral color ankle heel boots or white tennis shoes. But I wanted to get as much wear out of my sandals before the weather gets cold.
Fall weddings are beautiful. Its the in-between weather that allows you to wear darker colors and explore new fabrics while holding on to your open-toe shoes. During quarantine, I found a chic velvet navy blue cocktail dress on Thred-Up – a popular online thrift store. I wore a simple sandal heel to complete this look . I may not have a wedding to attend this season, But I do have a dress to wear in Fall 2021!
We interrupt this scheduled programming to bring you an important message concerning your health! The second wave of Covid-19 is set to hit again during the flu season, and now is the perfect time to build your immune system with fresh herbs that you will find at your local grocery store. Blushing Flames has developed the ideal remedy made of ginger, turmeric, habanero pepper, garlic, jalapeno pepper, and cayenne pepper to help boost your immunity, clear up sinuses, aid gut health, and alleviate allergies and colds. As a person who suffers from a leaky gut, it’s refreshing to know that there’s a company that relies on herbs to combat any ailment that attacks your body. At times my body has a hard time digesting certain foods, and when this happens, I tend to experience stomach aches, fatigue, and skin breakouts.
Along with removing food that my body views as toxic, I added Blushing Flames Fire Cider to my morning regimen to help me detox. I instantly felt the impurities leave my gut after taking a shot of Blushing Flames Fire Cider every other morning for the next two weeks (hence to the bottle being half full). The ingredients found in the Fire Cider are better than anything that you will purchase over the counter.
This Fire Cider is made to clear any toxins in your body that may weaken your immune system, cause a cold or a sinus infection. Follow @blushingflames on Instagram to purchase your Fire Cider.

Cayenne Pepper– boosts metabolism and helps strengthens the stomach’s defense against infections and digestion.
The end of summer is near, and I want to take this time to show as much skin as possible before we transition into hoodies and jean season. On a safe day out with the girls, I wore this beautiful neutral colored split wrap skirt with a plain white crop tank top and sandals. I completed this look with a little vintage wooden bag.

Since the beginning of this pandemic, I had more time to research hair products out on the market. I came across CurlSmith’s products while searching the web for vegan hair care. This product has been on my radar for three years. But, I was reluctant to purchase this product due to the prices because there’s nothing worse than investing money in a product that does not work on your hair. After watching a product review of Curlsmith’s Weightless Air Dry Cream on Alyssa Marie’s youtube channel, I realized that I had the wrong approach when it came to purchasing hair products. All of the hair products that I had in my cabinet had horrible ingredients for my low porosity hair. So, I threw out my hair products and took the curl quiz on Curlsmith’s website to determine which product will be good for my hair. They asked detailed questions about my hair porosity, density, curl pattern, texture, and problem areas to select custom products that will work for my hair. Let’s see what products Curlsmith has chosen for me!
Super Slip Pre-Biotic Primer
When Curlsmith suggested the Super Slip Pre-Biotic Primer, I wondered why I would need to apply a primer before shampooing my hair. From the research that I’ve done on primers, I found that it serves as a protective layer to maintain its moisture before you shampoo. According to Curlsmith, “The super slip prebiotic contains balanced pre-biotics to help create the perfect environment for hair follicles strengthening the scalp and prepping it for clarifying.” I wet my hair, and put a quarter size primer on my hand, and work the product through my hair. I leave the primer in my hair for one minute before applying the Wash and Scrub Detox Pro-Biotic.
Five Main Ingredients: Glycerin – moisturizes hair and prevents breakage. PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil– helps to remove grease from oils and causes them to become suspended in the liquid. Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) root – encourages healthy growth by stimulating the hair follicles and improving scalp circulation. Inulin – is prebiotic, which is a nutritional compound that feeds the good bacteria. Citric Acid – improves the scalp condition by getting rid of dandruff.
Wash & Scrub Detox Pro-Biotic
After using the primer, the Wash and Scrub Detox Pro-Biotic gently exfoliates the scalp and removes all impurities to promote a healthy environment for the hair follicles to flourish. People with Low Porosity hair tend to have trouble absorbing moisture, so it’s imperative to have a shampoo that will effectively clean your scalp, making it possible for your pores to open for moisture to penetrate your hair follicles.
Five Main Ingredients: Lactobacillus ferment Lysate– is a probiotic that strengthens the scalp’s protective barrier and helps your hair to grow. Dragonfruit– is a natural antioxidant that calms and clears the scalp creating the perfect condition for growth. Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower Extract– helps with those who have psoriasis, eczema, and many skin problems that affect the scalp. Perlite– is a micro scrub made of volcanic ash that effectively exfoliates and gets rid of buildup. Acetic Acid (Vinegar)– It is excellent to clarify the hair, get rid of buildup, and enhance your natural healthy shine.
Weightless Air Dry Cream
Curlsmith’s Weightless Air Dry Cream is my favorite product from their scalp line. After applying a deep conditioner, I use Curlsmith’s Weightless Air Dry Cream to add moisture to my hair. This is a lightweight water-based product that provides intense moisture and makes it easier for moisture to absorb in my hair without weighing it down. With fine low porosity hair, it’s essential to have water as the main ingredient because our hair characteristics like to repel moisture. After applying this product to each hair strand, my hair feels silky and soft, making it manageable for me to comb through.
Five Main Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil– enhances hair follicles’ health and promotes hair growth. Babassu Oil– Soothes the scalp and promotes hair growth. Wild Murumuru– soften hair, improves manageability, and seals in moisture. Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil– helps increase hair growth. Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)– nourishes the hair with Vitamins.
Hold Me Softly Style Balm
I use the Hold Me Softly Style Balm after the Weightless Air Dry Cream. This styling product provides a soft hold on my curls without leaving a hard, crunchy residue.
Five Main Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil–Penetrates the hair shaft due to its molecular weight, cools the scalp, and retains moisture in your hair. Rosemary– Improves scalp health and stimulates hair growth. Avocado– smoothens, condition, and deeply nourishes the hair. Apricot Kernel– softens hair, improves manageability, and seals in moisture. Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract–The natural oils in sage strengthens the roots and stimulate healthy hair growth.
On my way to Brunch, I wore a floral pattern one shoulder ruffle dress that has an asymmetrical hem with a big pink leather and straw tote purse. This is the perfect outfit to catch-up with your BFF in as you guys enjoy a pitcher of sangria.

Even though there’s nowhere to go, I genuinely enjoy putting on an outfit to go to trader joes. Last week, I sashayed down the aisle with a cream-colored belted high-waisted jeans paired with a cut-up v-neck tank top and black sandals. I was a little overdressed at trader joes, but getting dressed up has brought me comfort during this quarantine.

2020 has been one hell of a year! Who would have thought that coming close to your loved ones without a face mask could be considered a life and death situation? My birthday has just passed, and the last thing I wanted to do was stare at a screen on another zoom chat. I was fortunate for DC to be in phase two of reopening, which meant outdoor dining. I booked a rooftop reservation with three of my friends at the Delegate. I must say that this was a vibe, the ambiance was great, the view was breathtaking, the food was delicious, and they played 90s Hip Hop and R&B along with Reggae. After being cooped up in the house for the past four months, I truly appreciated this time to safely celebrate with my friends. I felt comfortable eating outside. We wore our face masks to our table and was able to take it off once we sat down. The Delegate made everything safe for their guests; the tables were more than six feet apart, and we used the gotab app to order and pay for our food.
For those who have Birthdays coming up and considering eating out at a rooftop, I recommend going to a place that takes proper precautions to make sure their guests are safe. I wouldn’t risk eating where there are large crowds. As of recently, COVID cases has increased, if you decide to go out, please take the proper measures to ensure your safety.
