Hair Serums serve as a tool to reduce frizz and protect the hair from future damage. With my constant struggle with frizz and dryness, I needed a hair serum capable of bringing my dry coils to life. JNL Naturals Hydrate Hair Serum is made for people like me with dry low porosity hair that has a hard time absorbing moisture; this hair serum can hydrate and reduce frizz while making the hair more manageable to maintain. This product is made with four unique moisturizing oils that has restored my hair :
Coconut oil moisturized my hair.
The sweet almond oil reduced frizz.
The jojoba oil reduced the buildup on my scalp.
The argan oil made my hair more manageable.
First, I washed and deep conditioned my hair; Then, I applied five drops of the Hydrate Hair Serum on my scalp and massage for one minute. I used the remaining serum left from my scalp massage to gently run my hair through my fingers and finally applied styling products to complete my wash n go. Adding JNL Natural Hydrate Serum helped improved wash n go; my hair feels hydrated, looks shinier, and is more manageable to handle
Special Note for those with low porosity hair: This product has light oils that will not weigh down your hair.
I love getting dressed up to go to new places! This weekend, I ventured out to Maketto to indulge in authentic Cambodian/Taiwanese cuisine. This place is unique; it has a lovely Jungle Bungalow aesthetic outside on the upper level that reminds me of an old Vietnam war movie scene where the soldiers are getting drinks at a local bar. My vintage silk Bedford fair skirt paired with an oversized white shirt that I decided to tie up to add spunk to the outfit perfectly matched the scenery. This fabric was breathable and light; I couldn’t help but doing a couple of twirls in this vintage masterpiece. On a hot, humid day, this outfit was extremely cool and fun to wear.

Summertime is my favorite time of the year! My hair gets lighter, and my skin gets darker. I usually neglect my budget around this time of the year to invest in a new vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free Skin Tint and Concealer from Lune + Aster.
I’m not a fan of wearing too much makeup in the summertime, but when I do? I prefer a dewy look that gives me a radiant finish. The Real Glow Skin Tint from Lune + Aster has a creamy texture that offers excellent sheer coverage and a natural look after minimum application. The Deep Almond was slightly darker than my summer tan; So, I used their Medium/Deep Hydrabright Concealer to blend perfectly with their Deep Almond Skin Tint shade to match my color. This brand has 11 shades in their Skin Tint to choose from, which is pretty impressive for a vegan line.
How do I achieve this Summer Time Glow? First, I use a moisturizer to hydrate my skin. Next, I apply Lune + Aster’s Real Glow Skin Tint on my face using a moist blending sponge. Once again, I neglected my eyebrows, so I use their Hydrabright concealer under the brow to hide the fine hairs, under my eyes, forehead, upper lip, chin, and then blend in with my Skin Tint using my blending sponge. Finally, I applied blush and setting powder, and viola, I have an effortless glow for the summertime.
My Favorite Ingredients found in both products: Hyaluronic Acid- helps replenish the skin’s moisture levels. Vitamin E- helps to hydrate, repair, and protects against UV damage.
Sometimes after church, I like to link up with my friends for brunch, so finding a suitable transition attire for both church and brunch can be tricky. Although I want to look appropriate for church, I don’t want to look too conservative for brunch afterward. This long light blue pleated skirt with a simple white tie-hem tank top was perfect for both occasions on a Sunday afternoon.
