For those of you who are looking for vegan skincare products, I would recommend subscribing to the Detox Box. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth the money! Each month, you are surprised with different green skincare and beauty products.
In this particular box, I received Herbivore’s face oil collection. My initial thought was, “What the hell am I supposed to do with face oil?” Since I spend $55 a month for this box, it wouldn’t hurt to have an open mind to try these products out. Especially since Herbivore is the creator of my favorite mask, “Blue Tansy.” I should’ve known that I’ll have the same reaction to their facial oils. Whoever thought of Prism exfoliating facial oil; is a genius! This product is similar to a serum but takes it a step further with having 5% fruit acid that removes dead skin cells and regenerates the skin with the proper moisture. The direction says that you could use it as often as you can. Since I have sensitive skin, using it before I go to bed each night works better for me.

I didn’t know that it was possible to have a face oil specifically for oily skin. There’s a misconception that when you have oily skin, there’s no need to apply much moisture after washing your face because we can produce natural oils for our skin. But lack of humidity can cause sebum buildup. Lapis oil allows my skin to replenish natural oil that balances the oil levels in my skin and controls my blemishes. Fun Fact: I like to use this oil as a primer before applying my foundation.
