THRIFT STORE FINDS: NEW YEARS EVE ATTIRE

New Years’ Eve night looks different this year with everything being canceled, but that’s not going to stop me from getting dressed up to bring in the New Year with my quarantine crew in style. On Thursday night, I will be wearing a black festive mini skirt with a long black blazer and a white-collar shirt. This a perfect attire to sip champagne in; while counting down to the New Year.

THRIFTING WITH THE HOMIES

THRIFTING WITH THE HOMIES

It’s good to have friends who love to thrift just as much as I do. Since there is no- where to go right now, we decided to shop for outfits to wear to brunch at Mi Vida Restaurant. See what looks we brought to the restaurant this past weekend.

With the state of the world today, I wanted to pay homage to those who have fought, marched, preached, and spent time behind bars for me to have opportunities today. I transformed this comfy burnt orange pull-on-pants into a stylish outfit by pairing it with a long sleeve crop top, a vintage- gold plated belt buckle to bring out the look, and wore a beret to make a statement. Since brunch is an all-day thing, I wore a black blazer to protect me from that fall breeze and black booties for height.

Not only does she decorate homes , but she also puts fashion masterpieces together. She wore hot chocolate leather pants with a soft white dressy turtleneck blouse and decorative black necklace to add finishing touches to her outfit. Be sure to follow her home décor page for the latest trends @stylemeshannyb.

She brought 90s nostalgia to brunch with her short plaid skirt, black turtleneck, black thigh-high boots, and yellow raincoat to add a pop of color to her trendy outfit. Did I mention that she’s a dope artist? Follow her @pnma to listen to her music.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: Rainy Days in Fall

Rainy days in the fall are difficult to dress for; the weather is colder, the wind is harsher, and the rain lasts longer. Finding a good rain jacket during this time of the year can be challenging because if you wear a coat, you’ll be too warm, and wearing a spring rain jacket is not heavy enough to keep you warm. This past Monday, the weather called for rain with a high of 56 and a low of 39; I wore a Liz Claiborne rain jacket, along with a forest green sweater and rain boots to keep me warm and dry.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: SOPHISTICATED EDGE

You never realize what you have until it is gone. Since March, I’ve been working from home, and I missed getting dress up to go to work. I was excited when my boss sent a schedule for us to be in the office part-time. My first outfit back at the office was a soft pink silk blouse with a gold shimmer pencil skirt, black booties, and a face mask that screams “I’M BACK.” Even though I didn’t have an audience to show off to, it felt good getting dressed up to go to work. Those of you working from home until next year, you’ll find that wearing a cute outfit to your next zoom meeting will make you feel better.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: SAVED BY THE BELL

Saved by the Bell was one of my favorite shows growing up. I wanted Lisa Turtle’s confidence and Zack Morris to be my boyfriend. What I loved most about the show was the fashion. I couldn’t wait to get to high school to rock a mini dress along with a denim jacket like Lisa, Zack’s trendy graphic tees, Kelly’s crop tops, or Jessie’s high-waisted jeans. They all had their own style, and I loved it!

In this post, I will pay homage to the athletic hunk with the killer dimples, AC Slater. He was known for wearing printed shirts tucked into his denim washed jeans and reeboks. I decided to add a feminine twist to this AC Slater inspired look with an oversized floral print blouse, high-waisted black washed denim jeans, and black booties. How did I do with this AC Slater inspired look? Please comment below.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: CUTE & COMFY

Sometimes in life, you want to chill but look cute doing it. I recently met up with a couple of friends for lunch, and I just wanted to wear something comfortable. So, my look for the day was an Old Navy high-waisted blue denim cut-off ankle jeans with a classic button-down shirt and gray Adrienne Vittadini shoes. Of course, it was my turn to pay; I carried my wallet in a red vintage Liz Claiborne purse. I had a great time catching up with my friends in style.

THRIFT ONLINE FINDS: IN BETWEEN WEATHER OUTFIT

Fall can be unpredictable with the weather fluctuating from 50 to 70 degrees. It’s good to have a sweater for a 72-degree day and a cold evening, which was the case this past weekend at the winery. I wore a pink pullover midriff sweater with distress boyfriend jeans and a neutral color sandal heel. I could have worn this outfit with a neutral color ankle heel boots or white tennis shoes. But I wanted to get as much wear out of my sandals before the weather gets cold.

Dress came from THRED UP.

THRIFT ONLINE FINDS: FALL WEDDING ATTIRE

Fall weddings are beautiful. Its the in-between weather that allows you to wear darker colors and explore new fabrics while holding on to your open-toe shoes. During quarantine, I found a chic velvet navy blue cocktail dress on Thred-Up – a popular online thrift store. I wore a simple sandal heel to complete this look . I may not have a wedding to attend this season, But I do have a dress to wear in Fall 2021!

Dress came from THRED UP.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF EXTRAVAGANCE!

Gold symbolizes extravagance, wealth, riches, and excess. Even if we are house hopping for the rest of the year, I will find a reason to wear this gold fitted midi dress to the next get together.

PSA: When you see a unique piece like this dress, pick it up, I guaranteed that you would not see it anywhere else.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: End of Summer Attire

The end of summer is near, and I want to take this time to show as much skin as possible before we transition into hoodies and jean season. On a safe day out with the girls, I wore this beautiful neutral colored split wrap skirt with a plain white crop tank top and sandals. I completed this look with a little vintage wooden bag.

Skirt Came From:

Vintage Wooden Bag came from a thrift store in the DMV area (I bought this bag 10 years ago).
