This weekend’s weather is not ideal, but I can say farewell to winter with style by wearing a tan Harve Bernard leather skirt with a stolen black sweater from my mom’s closet, a black fedora hat, and black ankle boots.

Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare

Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare

Mad Hippie sent many products from their advanced skincare line to my 2nd Annual Galentines day Slumber party. I spent a month incorporating each product into my morning and night routine. And I must say that I am impressed with what each product had to offer in cleansing, exfoliating, toning, and regenerating my skin. I’ can’t wait to go to Mom’s Organic to make purchases; in the meantime, see my review on each product.

Cream Cleanser

This Cream Cleanser Cream was a winner for me! It gently washed away dirt and impurities from the day of environmental pollutants and stress without stripping my skin of its natural oil. I apply this cleanser before I go to bed each night.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Sesame Oil – helps protect skin cells from the damage caused by environmental factors, such as UV rays, pollution, and toxins.
Jojoba Oil It helps control sebum production, promotes collagen synthesis, and speeds up wound healing.
Organic Macadamia Oil – restores the skin’s barrier function, prevents water loss and the infiltration of toxins, and environmental skin damage.
Algae Extract– is excellent for hydrating, revitalizing, and toning the skin.
Orchid Extract- moisture skin, boosts the skin’s immunity, reduces fine lines, and soothes the skin.

Cleansing Oil

This cleansing oil is my go-to for removing my makeup for the day. I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup, but when I do, I require a light cleanser that will dissolve makeup from my skin while cleansing and hydrating my skin. Before I go to bed, I apply a dime-size amount on my palm and massage it into my skin and wash it off with warm water.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Squalane– penetrate pores, and improve the skin at the cellular level.
Rose Fruit Oil reduce dullness and leave you with glowing and vibrant skin.
Ginger Root Extract– naturally tones the skin and helps reduce the appearance of skin discoloration and acne-prone skin.
Pumpkin seed oil naturally soothe and replenishes the skin.
Oat Kennel Oil– protects the skin from damage caused by UV rays, soothes skin
.

Microdermabrasion Facial

This sample was a facial in a packet! This product gently exfoliated my skin and sloughs off any dead skin to renew my skin cells. After cleansing my skin, I apply the microdermabrasion to damp skin in a buffing motion for three minutes twice a week and use a moisturizer afterward.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Bamboo– gives your skin a radiant glow.
Pumice (Volcanic Ash)– works to cleanse and purify the skin by killing bacteria and removing dead skin.
Fruit Acid Complex (Vaccinium Myrtillus) Fruit Extract – sloughs off your skin’s outermost layer, revealing a clean, refreshed complexion.
Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract – helps the skin to attract water and to hold to it.
Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract– removes bacteria and dead skin buildup on the skin.

Vitamin A Serum

I never knew how beneficial a serum is to the skin until Mad Hippie sent their Vitamin A Serum. Vitamin A is suitable for boosting hydration. After washing my face with their cleansing oil and or cream, I massage the Vitamin A into my skin, fall asleep; I wake up every morning with a natural glow.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Potassium Cetylphosphate visibly smooth wrinkles, refine rough and bumpy texture, brighten tone, and unclog pores.
Oat Beta-Glucon– combats skin damage.
Acetyl Glucosamine– repairs and treat sun damage and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Coconut Oil – replenish the skin’s vital substances to keep it looking healthy and young.
Safflower Oil – acts as a lubricant on the skin surface, giving the skin a soft and smooth appearance.

Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C has been a hot commodity during the pandemic, its said to have a unique power to fight against foreign entity that destroys the immune system. But did you know Vitamin C brightens your skin? I apply this serum every morning for a month after splashing water on my face, and my complexion was clear, and my skin tone was the tone.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Vegetable Glycerin -cleanse the skin without clogging pores.

Vitamin E – reduces the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration.
Chamomile Flower Extract -helps bind moisture to the skin and soften the skin.

Exfoliating Serum

Exfoliation is essential, even if it is a serum. It’s good to have an exfoliating serum that sloughs off dead skin cells while closing pores after washing the face or simply using a facial steamer. I apply this serum after cleansing my skin at night, and I wake up to a soft and smooth complexion.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract- protects skin stem cells’ longevity, increases vitality, combats chronological aging, increases the skin’s regenerate potential, and improves both wrinkles and skin firmness eye contour.
Peppermint leaf Extract– helps brighten the complexion.
Primula Veris Extract– acts to heal skin affected by acne and rashes.
Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract– function as an astringent which helps tighten up the skin, conditions it, and improve the exfoliation (shedding) of dead skin cells.
Goji Berry Extract– helps reduce wrinkles and signs of aging.

Eye Cream

Eye creams are essential because they address puffiness and dark circles due to lack of sleep and stress. I add a small amount of eye cream under my eye before bed, and I looked refreshed when I wake up in the morning.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Shea Butter– helps soften and conditions the skin.
Vitamin C- reduce the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration.
Caffeine– reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles under-eye.
Argan Oil – works to moisturize and soothe the skin while reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Kakadu Plum– works to brighten the appearance of skin discoloration.

Face Cream

I am an advocate of moisturizers, especially for oily skin. I love this cream, I use it in the morning after splashing water on my face, and thankfully the cream did not dry out my skin or leave my skin greasy.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Cetearyl Alcohol– helps soften the skin.

Coenzyme Q10-it can have antioxidants benefits to slow down with age and cumulative.

Pomegranate seed extract– help fight bacteria and fungus in your skin.

Antioxidant Oil

Antioxidants help stop damages caused by free radicals; this is what I experienced every time I used this oil in the morning before placing it on my skin. My skin felt rejuvenated and gave me a natural glow.

My Favorite Five Ingredients:

Cranberry Fruit Extract– Evens oily and blemished skin
Blueberry Extract– combat free radicals from sun exposure

Red Apple Lipstick: Gluten-Free & Vegan Lipstick

Red Apple Lipstick: Gluten-Free & Vegan Lipstick

Red Apple Lipstick was gracious to sponsor my 2nd Annual Galentines Day Slumber Party. They sent an array of colors full of pinks, reds, and purples to my guest and me. I was fortunate to find the color “Audrey” (a soft pink) in my bag, a popular color from Red Apple Lipstick that is crafted with the highest quality ingredients to ensure long-lasting color and moisturized lips. I usually wear a lot with red, so I couldn’t wait to wear this pale pink with the outfit I picked out for brunch the next day with my girls. I wore a gold shimmer pencil skirt with an oversized black sweater and a black fedora hat, and this Audrey color added a timeless touch to my sophisticated look for the day. I applied a little bit on my lip, and Viola! My lips look and felt smooth and supple. Who knew a gluten-free and vegan lip line could make my lips look like this?

Side Note: the Rallye Balm is fantastic for everyday wear. It kept my lip soft and moisturized.

My Favorite Three Ingredients
Ricinus Communis (Castor Oil) – s a humectant that helps retain skin moisture by preventing water loss through the skin’s outer layer.
Olive (Olea Europea) Oil – provides relief from cracked and chapped lips, and natural SPF protection.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulas (Sweet Almond) Oil – has nourishing properties that lock in moisture to leave lips soft and plump

Canviiy’s Scalp Bliss

Canviiy’s Scalp Bliss

Many strive for long, thick, beautiful hair, but few are willing to maintain proper scalp health to achieve this goal. I was excited when Canviiy provided products for my Second Annual Galentine’s Day Slumber Party because I am guilty of neglecting my scalp and wonder why I am experiencing dry and itchy scalp. This week I added Canviiy’s Itch-Calming Organic-Based Serum and Sea Mineral & Organic Herb Infusion Restorative Growth Serum to my morning and night routine. See my review on each product below!

Itch-Calming Organic-Based Serum

Often, in between wash days, I experience an irritated and itchy scalp due to product buildup or just neglecting my scalp altogether. There wasn’t a product that worked, oils would clog the pores, and other brands had harmful ingredients that weren’t good for me. The Itch-Calming Organic-Based Serum was just right; it wasn’t too thick that it’ll clog my pore, and it had healthy ingredients. I use this lightweight serum before I put my hair in a pineapple each night before bed. I applied a pea-size amount of product on my scalp and began massaging for three minutes. Immediately, the cooling sensation cleansed my scalp of any impurities and toxins found in my pores.

Sea Mineral & Organic Herb Infusion Restorative Growth Serum

Proper scalp health contributes to long and healthy hair. I don’t believe my hair grew five inches after five days of trying the Sea Mineral and Organic Restorative Serum. Still, giving my scalp the proper tender love and care it needs by massaging it every morning with this serum helps strengthen the hair follicles and allows the serum’s nutrients to penetrate the scalp and promote long-term hair growth.

My Favorite four Ingredients found in both products:
Aloe Vera Leaf Extract- repairs dead skin cells on the scalp, promotes hair growth, prevents itching on the scalp, and reduces dandruff.
Witch Hazel- help treat scalp sensitivity and provide relief from symptoms such as itching and tenderness.
Peppermint oil – improve hair growth and prevent hair loss.
Manuka Honey- cleanses and protects the scalp.

THRIFT STORE FINDS: Casual Wear for Outdoor Dinning

There’s not much to do now and days due to restrictions. So when I want to meet up with friends, we find a restaurant with outdoor dining. Earth Harbor’s Glow Juice

Earth Harbor’s Glow Juice

This past year my skin has experience breakouts due to stress, hormonal balance, and excess oil. I managed my stress and hormones by making minor lifestyle changes, but I struggled with breakouts caused by the overproduction of sebum in my skin, and Earth Harbor’s Glow Juice was the solution to my problem. This Glow Juice is made from exotic fruits and herbs found in Asia’s gardens to the Caribbean island. These unique ingredients helped removed any excess oil and dirt that contributed to my breakouts and improved my skin’s tone, texture, and clarity. I used a facial steamer with this product to get the full penetration of enzymes and nutrients into my skin. I tend to use Earth Harbor’s Glow Juice once a week for 10 minutes after cleansing my skin, and the results are breathtaking, to the point when a friend of mine told me that I was glowing. I would recommend this product for those who struggle with redness, dullness, acne, oily skin.

Glow Juice step- by- step process:

1.) Cleanse your face
2.) Apply Glow Juice to a cleanse face and let it sit for 10 mins
Fun Fact: I like using this mask with my facial steamer to allow the nutrients from the Glow Juice to penetrate my skin
3.) Wash off the mask and Voilà!

My Favorite Five Ingredients:
1.) White Willow (Salix Alba) Bark Extract – clarifies the complexion and protect skin from bacterial buildup.
2.) Pineapple (Ananas Sativus) Fruit Extract – contains organic acid and enzymes that gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin while providing deep hydration.
3.) Passionfruit (Passiflora Incarnata) Extract – soothes acne-prone skin, eradicates dryness, promotes healthy skin and refreshing goodness.
4.) Lychee (Litchi Chinesis) Fruit Extract – combat the microbes causing acne and reducing inflammation and acne scars.
5.) Guava (Psidium guarana) Fruit Extract – slow down the skin’s aging, and treat acne.

THRIFTING WITH THE HOMIES

THRIFTING WITH THE HOMIES

It’s good to have friends who love to thrift just as much as I do. Since there is no- where to go right now, we decided to shop for outfits to wear to brunch at Mi Vida Restaurant. See what looks we brought to the restaurant this past weekend.

With the state of the world today, I wanted to pay homage to those who have fought, marched, preached, and spent time behind bars for me to have opportunities today. I transformed this comfy burnt orange pull-on-pants into a stylish outfit by pairing it with a long sleeve crop top, a vintage- gold plated belt buckle to bring out the look, and wore a beret to make a statement. Since brunch is an all-day thing, I wore a black blazer to protect me from that fall breeze and black booties for height.

Not only does she decorate homes , but she also puts fashion masterpieces together. She wore hot chocolate leather pants with a soft white dressy turtleneck blouse and decorative black necklace to add finishing touches to her outfit. Be sure to follow her home décor page for the latest trends @stylemeshannyb.

She brought 90s nostalgia to brunch with her short plaid skirt, black turtleneck, black thigh-high boots, and yellow raincoat to add a pop of color to her trendy outfit. Did I mention that she’s a dope artist? Follow her @pnma to listen to her music.

Yes, we came to Slay, and We did! All looks came from:
